Transfer Orders

How to transfer stock from one location to another

Updated over a week ago

Transfer orders allow you to relocate inventory between warehouses and locations in an organized fashion. The Inventory > Transfer Orders tab allows you to create and manage transfer orders for different locations.

There are a few actions that can be performed on this tab, including:

  • New transfer order: Create a new transfer order between two warehouses. Select the source warehouse, the destination warehouse, then add items and the quantities you wish to transfer.

  • Filters: You can filter what is shown in the transfer orders table by source, destination, or status.

  • Search: This allows you to search for transfer orders by their number, location, status, and more.

Transfer Orders Table

Your transfer orders are laid out in a table. This table can be sorted by any of its columns, and all of its contents can be found in the search function on the page. The columns shown include:

  • Transfer Order #: The number assigned or generated when a transfer order was created. To manage a particular transfer order, click on its transfer order number to open the Transfer Order page.

  • Name: The name of your Transfer order, to easily identify them, so your team can know what this Transfer order is about or to whom that TOs was made for.

  • Source: The warehouse and location that items are being transferred from. Once the transfer order is closed, inventory counts will be reduced in this location and added to the destination.

  • Destination: The warehouse and location that items are being transferred to. Once the transfer order is closed, inventory counts will be reduced from the source and added to this location.

  • Created: The date and time that the transfer order was created.

  • Creator: The user account that created the transfer order.

  • Status: This indicates whether or not the transfer order is pending or closed.

Craeting a new TO

When you click "New transfer order" you will see the following required selections: "Source and Destination" warehouse dropdowns. Once you select them, you have the following options: 1. Use the barcode input to start scanning the barcode, 2. click on "Add items" or 3. create an empty Transfer order to add the items later (Empty Transfer orders are no longer auto closing).

After you scanned/added all the items you need into your Transfer order or just clicked Save to create a empty TO. You will see that you have the options to:

  • Name your transfer order.

  • Prompt scans, to adds a new item that is not in the TO and add the quantity of your like to add.

  • Dynamic scans, to ad-hoc new items without the need of editing the TO all the time or being asked the quantity, it will always add or increment a +1 to the scanned barcode.

  • Mode toggle which by default is enabled that means Deduct (Removes the items from the source location) and disabled that means Transfer (Removes the items form the source location and transfers to destination.
