"This product requires a valid value for Non-Delivery Handling"
What This Error Means
Canada Post Error 8716 occurs when an invalid Non-Delivery Handling option is sent for the selected shipping service.
In other words, the Canada Post service you're trying to use doesn't support the non-delivery action (like Return to Sender) that was selected.
Why This Happens
SKULabs now automatically sends a Non-Delivery Handling option when creating Canada Post labels. However, each Canada Post service only supports certain return options. If an unsupported option is used, you'll see Error 8716.
For example:
Service: USA.XP (Xpresspost - USA)
Invalid Option: RTS (Return to Sender) ❌
Valid Options: RASE (Return at Sender's Expense) or ABAN (Abandon) ✅
How to Fix It
Double-check the service you’re using.
Refer to the table above to ensure the selected Non-Delivery Handling option is valid for that service.
Update the shipping settings or contact support if the option isn’t configurable in your setup.
